CANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY - TRAVEL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
PASSENGER’S TICKET CONDITIONS
1. Tickets are personal, non-transferable, issued in the passenger’s name and valid only for the itinerary and seat for which they are issued.
2. The fare does not include catering charges.
3. Passengers must be at the embarkation area at least fifteen (15) minutes before departure time. In case passenger misses the sailing, the fare is not refunded.
4. The carrier shall not be liable for damage or loss of baggage or other personal belongings of the passengers on board.
5. Passengers shall be entitled to carry hand luggage weighing up to ten (10) kg, without paying an additional fare.
6. Passengers must abide to Port authorities, Sanitary and Custom’s regulations.
7. Passengers must comply with the orders of the Master and the crew’s instruction regarding the maintenance of order and safety on board.
8. The eligibility to fare discount shall apply only to the following cases:
(a) Disability card holders.
As long as the above conditions are not met and the passengers do not have the necessary supporting documents, they will pay the full ticket on board, without deducting the amount already paid. The amount they have already paid will be refunded upon submission of the ticket to our offices.
9. Zero fare tickets are provided for children up to one (4) years old.
10. Booking confirmation e-mail shall not constitute travel document allowing passengers to embark.
CANCELLATION - TICKET CHANGE
In case of a cancelled trip due to bad weather conditions the issued online tickets are valid for one year.
LOSS OF TICKET
1. In the event of ticket loss, passengers need to purchase a new ticket in order to travel. Then, they need to notify in writing the loss providing ticket’s data, that is the date of the trip, the itinerary, the number of the lost ticket, the number of the new ticket purchased and a photocopy of it.
If the lost ticket is not found in the company records to have been used within one (1) month from the date of travel, the company will issue a free ticket of equal value to the lost one.

GENERAL TERMS FOR PASSENGER TRANSPORTATION
1. Passengers shall be informed by the ship-owner company website (www.karavakia.gr) of any cancellation thirty (30) minutes before the scheduled time of departure.
2. The transport of explosive, flammable, incendiary and generally dangerous substances shall be prohibited.
3. In case of ticket loss, the ticket can not be replaced and the fare can not be refunded.
4. The ship-owner company shall not be liable for any delay or cancellation of the route, deviation or failure to keep the scheduled route due to adverse weather conditions or orders by the Hellenic Ministry of Mercantile Marine, The Aegean and Island Policy or of the Port Authority or due to force majeure.
5. This contract of carriage is governed by Greek law. All disputes arising out of or in connection with this are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Thessaloniki, irrespective of its legal basis. Carriage, whether domestic or international, is subject to the provisions and financial limits of responsibility:
(a) the Athens International Convention of 1974 and its protocols of 1976 and November 1, 2002, as ratified by Law 1922/1991 and Law 4195/2013; and
(b) the Brussels International Convention of 1924 and its protocols of 1968 and 1979 (Law 2107/1992) insofar as the above provisions also apply to the carriage of passengers and their luggage or vehicles as applicable in Greece. In particular, the Athens Convention includes exceptions and limits to the carrier's liability for damage caused as a result of death or personal injury or loss or damage to luggage or cars. It is also agreed that the liability of the carrier will be subject to the maximum reduction provided for in Article 8, par. 4 of the above Convention. Domestic routes are governed by Law 3709/2008 "Rights - Obligations of Passengers and Carriers in Liner Shipping and Other Provisions".
6. Neither the carrier nor the ship are liable for any accident, loss or damage occurring prior to boarding, loading, and after disembarkation or unloading.
7. During the voyage, passengers should, for any complaint, contact the master of the ship and after the end of the voyage the ticket issuer or the ship-owner. In case complaint is not satisfactory resolved, fifteen (15) working days following the day of the travel, passengers may address the Authorities of the port of embarkation or disembarkation or the competent authorities, as per Article 5 of Ministerial decision No. 3332.12 / 05/13 / 14-6-2013 (Government Gazette 1453 B).
TERMS FOR PET TRANSPORTATION
1. Passengers who intend to travel with a pet must declare it at the time of booking in order to be informed of its transportation conditions in accordance with Presidential Decree 44/2011 (Government Gazette 110 A). Pets are transported free of charge in a cage.
2. Pets should always be accompanied by their owner kept on a leash and must wear a muzzle when they are out of their cage.
3. The animals transported should be appropriately vaccinated, with their updated health documents which will be presented to the ship's staff.
4. Pets are not allowed indoors and should avoid crowded outdoor areas, except for: (a) specially trained animals assisting persons with disabilities and holding appropriate certifications; and (b) small animals, provided they are carried in special baskets or wear a muzzle but are not allowed to enter restaurants, canteens and cabins unless the ship has specially designed spaces. In case fellow passengers object to pets remaining indoors, they will be transferred outdoors or in cages.
5. Pet owners are responsible for the care and hygiene of the pet and for adhering to applicable rules. Pet owners are solely responsible for any possible harm or damage caused by their animals to any third party and preventative measures must be taken.
6. Unaccompanied pets are not accepted.
7. Passenger ships operating to meet transport needs, as well as operating touring vessels, are not required to have specially designed spaces for pets.
